It's been quite some time since Eric's original development of these castings. I am, as far as I know, the only person so far to have built a model using some of these castings, so out of interest I thought I'd post an update.

I can't remember exactly when I took delivery of the castings but I think it was around 2016, but in fact it's been about 3 years building as it was shelved for various reasons for about a year.

Around the same time as I restarted the project, I learned CAD design and so for the remainder of the build I often didn't use the castings as it was easier to fabricate to ensure good fits and more detail. The wheel castings and cylinders were in the end the only ones to be used, with some modifications made to the cylinders to improve faithfulness to the prototype.

Only the pipework remains to allow it to steam. It runs smoothly on compressed air. Some photos attached and hopefully the short video uploads, let's see.

Thanks, yes I got the same Cd rom, really an incredible deal as that amount of drawings would be astronomically expensive from any other source. Amazingly enough though, it is still going and they are all still downloadable.

As a final update, she's in steam and running nicely, looking forward to some public running in the summer.

The completed locomotive, although if you like detail, there is almost no end to the project. There is a lost wax casting in bronze of the vacuum ejector so if that can be made to work, all the linkages are there to the vacuum cylinders, which are also now fitted.
