Hi all, I'm new to this foram and not at all good on a computer but here goes…., I am thinking of starting a 5" bulldog & I wondered what would be the best books to use for reserch and also compliment keith wilsons drawings, also has anyone found any problems with the drawings. It will be a long term project as I need to finish restoring our 1904 traction engine, (and there isn't one bit bolted or rivited to another inc the boiler¬!!!) Thanks Clive

          Hi Clive,

If you don't already know, the build was serialised in ME vols 144 to 148.

            hi clive,

keith wilson cocked up the valve gear as it doesnt provide enough travel with the designed amount of lap. the frames are only 1/16" thick and quite flimsy, and there is not a lot of room for the front bogie to move – so dont think of running it on a track with a tight radius!

i have a set of driving wheel castings and a set of frames if you are interested. (PM me)

            cheers,

            julian
