Hans, that's how I sort my issues out. I sometimes have to remove the price sticker that my newsagent has plastered over the issue number (methylated spirit works). Definitely a big no-no. Where do they hire these people?

Well you've ruined my Sunday morning. Here come the complaints.. let the hand-wringing and subscription cancelling begin.

Without change ME would still be 8" tall and 24 black and white pages.

How would that remove the sticker ?

Problem is now there are two mags and people are used to them. ME is mainly staem and loco's, MEW is tools.

Now if they were incorporated again because of costs the sizes would remain the same so that means content would be split and that's where dummies would be get throw out the prams.

The MEW boys would be moaning about choo-choo's, the ME boys would be moaning about lack of choo-choo's because there is no pleasing all.

So half of ME readers would threaten to cancel, half of MEW readers would threaten to cancel and at the first inclusion of a CNC article the rest would do the same

Personally I feel that if routers and 3D printers were included and that is where the future lies, then there is scope for a dedicated CNC mag but probably only 3 / 4 times per year at the moment.

I'm really pleased there are 2 magazines one for tools one for steam I buy both excellent

magazines keep up the good work.

That really angers me when you go in WH Smiths and see people blocking up

the gangway reading the magazines with no intent of buying all magazines should be sealed

why should someone buy a magazine which has got a load of thumb prints on it

I am glad you have received your MEW.

As a digital subscriber I am still stuck with issue #208. I guess the newsagents in the high street has the latest issue.

Well I prefer the two mags. I usually find something of interest in MEW and have most copies from issue 1 – although I am maybe more selective recently. I sometimes pick up ME but there do tend to be long running series there which are of little interest to me as is, I find, the whole "club" related scene.

As far as the location of the issue number goes, the top left hand corner of the cover is the most convenient for me as mine are filed vertically on bookshelves, spine outwards, and it is quick and to find a particular issue that way. I agree therefore that moving the number elsewhere is inconvenient and probably not properly thought through by the designer ( who may, of course, not be a reader of the magazine!) However I'll try not to get too stressed about it – after all how difficult is it to buy a pack of self adhesive paper labels and stick one of those on!

For many years I subscribed to ME but when MEW came along I dropped ME and only buy when it contains something to interest me. I notice now that with the change to this site we can no longer browse the contents page of the magazines as before so I guess that I will have to join the thumbing brigade at WHS

Tried that, still does not work.Windows needing to go online to find the programme so I just gave up. Dont want another load of rubbish downloads to clutter up my computer

Fresh, clear and well produced, a credit to the MEW team. A good cross section of articles as usual, something for everyone. I am especially pleased to see a column on making the ML7 into needle roller bearings, something I have wanted to do for years.
