Good Morning.
Can anybody help me with some advice on repairing rebuilding a boiler of a 2" scale clayton undertype.
I picked up what IO though was a bargain of ebay but it has turned out to be a bit of a headache but that another story.
The boiler is a bit roughly put together it has a couple of leaks which I have repaired but Im not happy with the state of the smoke tubes.
They have been silver soldered then flattened to keep in place it looks quite a mess.
The main shell of the boiler is in excellent condition and with a little bit of work Im sure it will be ok.
What I want to know is, can I drill out the smoke tubes and replace them with new tubes, is this normal practice, not recommended or too tricky.
I cant stretch to replacing the boiler so repairing might be my only option.
Thanks
Neil
