Please can you help. I have bought a Warco RF-25 mill and a boring head. I need to bore some 30mm dia holes in some 10mm aluminium. What speed should I run the boring head at and what size of cut should I take

Speed will often be governed by the boring head and how far you have it extended as the more it is extended the more out of balance it will run. Best start with what speed you would turn or bore a similar diameter on a lathe and slow if needed, then slow as the dia increases.

1mm depth of cut should be OK reducing on the last few cuts to take out any spring. Best to drill it out to 20mm or so and then start boring.

Not directly related, but the instructions for the Sherline boring head might be of interest.

Thank you for your help. I will test this morning and see how it goes.
