Thanks guys. Yes it was very kind of them, especially since I’m pretty sure they see me as being the oldest, grumpiest, and most cynical person in the office. I’d mentioned wanting to have another go at a 156/85 metal kit to a like-minded (modelling) pal at work, but that they weren’t cheap, and I’d got too many projects on anyway. A few months later I had one. Not only that, they’d found a long out of production Tyrrell P-34 prototype from Western Kits on EBay (in France!). My late dad built one for me in about 1976. I’d always wanted to re-build it with more details etc, but couldn’t do it – far too much sentimental value. Anyway, now I can. Some bits need refining, but hopefully the resin printer I’m getting at Christmas should make short work of that.
Tameo do various kits with different levels of detail. Some have full chassis detail. The older ones have photo-etched wire wheels which look beautiful at 1:43 scale.
Cheers!
