      No, i don’t have one.

One of the sticking points to an upgrade from the X1 mill, i’ve rather gotten to like power tapping on the x1, up to about m8 tops that is.

Just wondering if anyone does this on the sx2?

Guessing you’d need to add a motor reverse switch.Easy/hard?

Otherwise would it work on this quill less model?

My old mill (HBM BF16) had a DC motor. I added a double pole / double throw ON/Off/On switch (DPDT) to switch the 2 motor wires. That worked excellent. The On/Off/On is needed to be certain that the motor is completely switched off before swapping the wires to avoid short cuts. This is an easy modification. Beware that you need one hand free to reverse the direction. So the stock must be held in a vice.

My new mill (Paulimot F-207V) has a AC motor and a VFD. The VFD has an option to reverse the motor direction. I am going to replace this motor for an AC servo motor. That motor also has a reverse direction switch.

There are mills that have a reverse switch on the quill handles. That is a very handy option to have.

I seem to remember somebody doing it on here with a version of the X2. Just be aware that the SIEG mills with the built in tapping function have different settings on the board when you switch to tapping mode and a simple reverse switch would not do this.

Have a look at Ron’s post and some of the preceding ones where he fitted a switch

Not as easy as having the button on the end of the quill spider.

you can fit a switch to the SX2P that will give forward and reverse, very cheap and simple to do.
