The three wire method gives very accurate figures for the truesize of screw threads by measuring from the flanks of the V rather than from the crest of the threads. As the crest are normally truncated, measuring across them gives a false reading. The problem with the three-wire approach is the complex trigniometry involved! This utility saves you all the headaches, allowing you to input just a few parameters and giving a direct readout.
The zip folder contains three icons: the utility exe file, a desktop icon and a pdf explaining how to use the utility.

This utility was written in Visual Basic 5 by Pete Worden.
The utility works with windows operating systems up to W7, though users of later versions may be told a .dll file used by Visual Basic 5 is missing. If you get the error that file Msvbm50.dll is missing, you can download an installer for it from Microsoft here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/180071
Users of Windows 8 may find that with the dll installed the program opens but does not run correctly. We hope to resolve this in the future.
