I want to make a 90deg fuel tap to fit on the bottom of the tank I am making for the Farm Boy. Which method would be est fitting a small O ring inside to seat against the taper or just a metal to metal seat. I know I will need an o ring suitable for the fuel used.

This is going to be a small unit, keeping it roughly in scale to the tank and engine.

I need to make this before drilling the hole in the tank so I can match the thread.

I also need to make a filler cap which I will use an appropriate O ring to seal as well as a small hole to allow it to breath. Not sure whether to go with a push fit or screw in design any thoughts on this

      Many thanks in advance

Where do you have the tank positioned? In most cases it ie better to have the top fuel level at or just below the carb as this prevents flooding unless you have some form of valve within the carb that only allows fuel to flow when needed such as   a float or a valve that is opened by th evacuum as found on Lunkenheimer type carbs. So no real need for a tap as the fuel won’t flow up hill.

I usually thread my fuel caps

          Thank you Jason

At the moment it is with the max level above the carb, but I can lower it to remove the need of a tap. I will look at the set-up when I get into the workshop in a moment.
