There’s the Bantam I mentioned previously in Melton, who claim to offer delivery, but I know nothing about the company or the condition of the machine.

That’s Melton Mowbery, NOT Melton Constable, and not in Norfplk. Noel.

What size lathe are you looking for, is it manual or cnc ?

There is a CVA Toolroom lathe for sale in Kings Lynn for £800

400v 3 phase that could no doubt be changed.

In your other post regarding sourcing a lathe, you mentioned being willing to travel within England.  There is a Boxford VSL for sale in the  latest edition of MEW free ads.  It’s in Wakefield, has a spindle bore greater than your required dimension and is reportedly “well tooled” at £1000 o.n.o.  I am assuming that it’s still for sale, of course.

Your choice of lathe will depend on what you intend to make on it.

(You can’t turn 11″ brake discs on a C1 size lathe, nor would you easily make watch parts on a Chester Crusader).

                        Size does matter.

Obviously, your budget, and the space available will influence your choice. If possible, take someone with you, who is experienced, when you go to inspect a possible purchase.

Shiny paint may look nice, but won’t fix wear!

                        Howard
