I’m after some advice regarding reliable machine tool removal people. Ideally someone with a hiab fitted small lorry or trailer equipped unit for a 750kg vertical miller within the UK, for hobby use. Any suggestions of an economical company / individual please?

Robin, search for Landylift. Never used them so can,t guarantee he is good but people on the forum have and most were happy with his service.

He advertises on Homeworkshop web site.

Robin,

I can vouch for his service. He has a specially equipped 4 wheel drive truck with rear mounted hydraulic crane that can post 750Kg through a workshop doorway. His maximum capacity is 1 tonne ( Bridgeport size)

I sold a long bed Boxford AUD a few years ago and the buyer got 1Tonne to collect it and take it from Folkestone, Kent to Yorkshire. I was most impressed with the care that was taken when moving and loading the machine and tooling, all very professional, the machine was carefully covered to protect it in transit. I’ve no idea of the cost, but the buyer did say he thought it was very reasonable considering the distance involved.

Update all, many thanks for your advice. Steve of Landylift advised that he is now concentrating on moves around West Yorkshire only. Matt of 1tonne.com does however offer his services all around the UK

Should you end up having to use an ordinary pallet shifter make sure you ship it laid down on a double pallet, machinery shifting isn’t their strong point and their understanding of gravity is limited.
