Displacement Lubricator Drain Plug Mechanics?

I wish to make a couple of displacement lubricators to the above design. Main body is 7/16″ diameter, smaller bottom section is about 5/16″. There is a cranked handle drain plug in the base and a drainage hole just below the chamfer, marked with a blue dot. I really need some assistance please with working out how to engineer the drain plug so that when you partially unscrew it it allows the condensate to drain out the small hole. My brain just isnt getting there! Any help/sketches would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Chris.

Stepped hole in bottom of body, large one for thread small one for valve seat. valve is reduced dia to allow condensate past and out the drain hole which is just above the threaded portion. you could investigate the stuart turner design.

Hi Chris,

Is it something like this you are looking for?

Just above the arrow pointing at the 7BA drain plug there is a small drain hole.

Yes I have actually made missing drain plugs for the Stuart design, but could not translate that method in my mind to the required design.
