The Cam Calc lift calculator on the site uses a Java Script Applet which my IPad doesn’t recognise and I understand now that this is problem with all modern sea h engines even if (as on mine) Java Script is enabled

Is there a version of Cam Calc or similar which I can use?

Try this one that uses Excel, seems mine and Rods (who wrote it) Drop box links have gone dead.

Do you have a Google account?  I just downloaded the file to my Android phone and it opens in Sheets which is the Google online spreadsheet program.  There’s an Apple program called Numbers which may be available as an iPad app.

just to confirm … Numbers is ‘standard issue’ on iPads

Edit: __ I will have a look later, but first indications are that the data-entry page in the file that Jason linked is locked when opened in Numbers 🙁

Hi guys, sorry too be late to the party, I’m on holiday at the moment.   I can’t access my Dropbox on my tablet, Google seems to have provided me with a brand new Dropbox account with nothing in it!

Simon, When you open the CamCalc file in Numbers does the cam drawing bit work?  Sheets does all the calcs OK but doesn’t do the drawing bit.  Microsoft used to offer a free mobile version of Excel that would do everything but now it seems to insist you buy Office 365 to edit ( change the input data).

Any problems using CamCalc please get in touch.

                    Rod

I can still get it to work without paying, just save a copy to onedrive which can then be edited and keep saying No to signing up.

Dropbox does not show much of my stuff now though it does seem to still serve up some of the files even though I can’t see them listed on my account.

Try OpenOffice Calc as a free alternative to Excel.

Aspect ratio of the image looks a little odd [?]

Michael, thanks for that.  Getting Excel to plot a graph with equal X and Y scaling needed a technique involving a ghost graph hidden underneath the cam display graph.  I guess Apple’s display handling differs from Microsoft and Android.

As a matter of interest, why does the Excel version seem to require a cubic spline add-in?

caculations work ok but doesn’t do the drawing bit-but not bothered about that

I had only viewed the file before … but properly importing it into Numbers pops-up this warning message:

Edit: __ the image of the cam looks much better proportioned, but it doesn’t re-draw properly if the input values are changed.
