Has anyone replaced an oil seal on a Warco VHM, please?

I have the Manual on set-up and use, but there is nothing at all about maintenance. There are exploded diagrams of the bits, but I hesitate to start dismantling it. It looks like it might be possible simply to lower the quill to get to the O-ring and replace it, is this the way?

      Any helpful advice appreciated!

      Thanks

      Tony

Which / what is a Warco VHM – I’ve just tried a search without any joy..

Are you talking about the spindle-bottom oil-seal?

          It’s a milling machine (1992 vintage)

However, I think the problem is no more. There was a lot of oil “leaking” but it seems to have have come from somewhere else than the quill, probably due to my over filling it, though the level indicator was showing empty at the time (I think it was air-locked)  Anyway it now shows a slightly over full level so all seems ok now, thanks.

          Regards

          Tony
