I was recently given two copies of a magazine entitled ‘Engineering & Technology’, which came to me from a friend that has a daughter who is serving a technical apprenticeship with an Additive Manufacturing company. Not ‘model engineering’ by a very long chalk, being published by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, but I have to say I have found them very interesting, well written for those who are not so highly technically informed and covering a wide variety of engineering innovations. If you happen to chance upon a copy I can highly recommend it as a very good read.

        Nice website too. https://eandt.theiet.org/

Some restrictions to members only but plenty of other good articles readily available.

        Thanks for the tip.

Must have improved a lot then.  When the IET was the ISS the IEE NEws was quite good, but then they rebranded and until I left the institute years and years ago it was a complete rag.  A much better mag (though again not as good as it was) is Ingenia published by the RAEng:

It has indeed improved in recent years.  I’ve been reading it and its predecessors for over fifty years and it has evolved from dry and dusty, through incomprehensibly arcane, to the stage where my non-technical wife finds interest in some of the articles.

I wonder if we should continue this thread with other similar publications:
