Hi…. Explained a little in my introduction but basically I bought one of said lathes well used but works fine and then I bought a 2nd spares or repair as it had a better ardeal tailstock (quick release) but to be fair the whole lathe is in good condition apart from pcb problems?

Chuck turns slightly before blowing the 2a fuse….. Not teared it apart yet but I know how to check for dry solder joints but is there anything in particular I should be checking and how….

Motors not seized and brushes have loads of meat left….

      Pic of the board

Have not experienced a similarv problem, but reading about those whom have, it might be that the Board mis damaged. Possibly the ouput chips?

I believe that the original board was up graded, and that US made boards were superior to Chinese ones

There used to be a chap who would repair boards for a lot less than the price of a replacement.

If you choose to buy a new board, do check which one you have. I believe that the C2 and C3 use different boards.  (Check the nSArc Euro webslite)  It would be a pity to spend a lot of money on a new board and then blow it because it is not the right one mfor the motor fitted.

Well it turns out to be a unicorn…. Tested the pcb on my other lathe and it fine 😊

          It’s the motor that’s blowing fuses 👍

Posted this on your other thread, just to be complete

If you want a new motor, talk to Arc Euro, but check which control board and motor. The C2 differs from the C3

Thanks for the heads up 👍

I’ve not put all the best bits into 1 lathe, kept the spare pcb as back up and sold the spare one spares or repair now…

              Keeping this one

On the one you have sold, what was the long handel coming out of the gear cover, top left, for?
