Hello

i have 12SWG (2.64mm) piano wire and I need some brass tube that is a sliding fit over it. I can only find K&S, Albion Alloys and the like that are slightly too loose of a fit.

Any ideas of a suitable supply?

What length do you need?

You could try annealing the tube and rolling it between two flat plates. In principle, it should become longer and thinner.

Think through how they draw wires. Poke in your 12SWG wire and pull the assembly through a die to squeeze it together.

Can you find something with a smaller ID and make a spade drill or D-bit out of some spare wire?

It appears to be supplied by K&S Metals, which he mentions in his original post as being too loose. So, while it is sold as 12G, it does not sound as if it is suitable for his requirements.

Hence, if there is a different one you have found, that has 12G in its description please shout out its location as it might help.
