Hi, I’ve got a couple of these types of motors, which are flameproof, and were removed from a couple of scraped diesel pumps, which are class II. I think those used in petrol pumps, should be class III. These two are only rated for 1 hour like the one above.
The heavy construction and the absents of any air vents, tells you that they are flameproof types, so all the heat generated when they are running, has to be radiated away by the casing, which is why they are not continuous running motors.
