Hi Mike. I have used these along time ago and would never have thught of having a DRO readout on the tailstock as it is dificult to do with the basic length setting of the tailstock and of the quill would need to be taken into concideration. If you need to do accurate drilling it is simple to fit a drill onto the toolpost, with a morse taper holder, which can have a setting for center pre set and then depth of cut is simple to set and do. I have a scale set engraved on the quill and a dial on the handle which gives me fairly acurate drilling to a few though with little problems. You may want to concider having a DRO scale on the compound slide but that also has problems of its own.
