I have acquired a nice Arrand milling / drilling spindle with a 1MT taper and I will mount this on my Myford. The chuck capacity is 6mm and the ER11 collets go up to 7mm. With my Myford dividing head mounted on the lathe spindle I can already index successfully and with the Arrand spindle I will be able to machine cross holes or radial slots without removing parts from the chuck.
I would appreciate guidance on the motor size, I think 120-150 Watts is enough (24V 7 Amp) and with PWM speed control I won’t lose torque at lower speeds. I prefer a “quality” motor to minimise noise and vibration. All recommendations for motor, PWM and power supply appreciated. Thank you….
