Any of our Australian friends live anywhere near Nambour (about 60 miles north of Brisbane). I’m trying to get a photo of a loco they have on display, the only one on the interweb is very blurred.

They have a contact page might be worth a direct e-mail to them.

That looks a great little local museum, with just the right attitude

Annual Membership is a trivial price … They deserve to do well

          .

No this doesn’t help Duncan … I just thought it needed saying.

Contacting the museum was my first port of call, no response yet and I’m an impatient so and so

Remember that they are at least 10 1/2hours ahead of us and may not have started their working day yet

The loco was in a cage which is why the main crankpins is obscured. I found some old photos in a search and the valve gear looked different in them. I was at the Nambour museum about 18 months ago.

That’s excellent thank you. I’m away from my computer at the moment (baby sitting, yuk) , but will download the photo this evening

                    Thanks again

Warwick Allison has more information. He sent more than was published. PM me your email and he can send you the rest. (Do PMs even work now?) he’s not on this Forum.

Pm sent, a less than intuitive exercise. It seems I have to select your profile, select ‘private message’ and a proforma appears. Despite setting out to send you a private message I eventually discovered I had to type your name into the box at the top. Don’t even mention how long it took, this site is really trying my patience. Thanks again

I’ve sent it to Warwick who is at our monthly public running day now, where I should be, but I’m unwell.

Thanks to Simon and Warwick I now have loads of pictures of Valdora. If you follow the letters page in ME you’ll find out why I wanted them. Very helpful people model engineers.
