I seem to remember hearing/reading  some years ago,  that somebody had found that a processed fuel ( was it Homefire?) worked very well in their loco. Does anyone have any recollection of this or does anyone actually use Homefire?

Some years ago I used to attend the Modelers week at Primrose Valley Filey North Yorkshire with my 2” scale traction engine, a regular visitor to the week used to bring a few bags of Homefire (free) for the traction engine owners to use.

The 3” scale engines that were there used it and from what I remember it made steam good ho! and seemed to be clean burning.

Thanks very much for that – I’ll get hold of some and try it.
