Hello dear Friends and warm Greetings from Greece
(Yes we are still alive after EMF Visit !!!)
Recently a friend of mine give me free a 2nd hand Chinesse lathe that i try to restore and use it as is very nice machine and i be very happy to have it in working condition .
My problem is that lathe come without chuck or backplate and as i dont have a large machine to fit an un machined  casting backplate and work it i must found a new or used backplate with already made the thread to put it on my lathe and then to make the facing and grooving operations on the lathe to fit .
I look on the web to find the right backplate but i cant find what i need as all the backplates are on Imperial dimensions .
My spindle is 56.5 mm or when i turn my caliper on inch shows 2.225 in.
The therad is 8 TPI . can some friend help me what type of backplate i need please ?
I suppose the Chinesse designer copy some other lathe but which lathe have this spindle ?
My very best regards and many thanks in advance together with a very big sorry for my English as i am totally self learned .

I suspect you have a 2.25 x 8tpi spindle. ie 2.225 inch would be the diameter over the crest of the thread??

          The Logan 11 inch had a 2.25 x 8tpi  try Tony@lathes.co.uk

Also the Southbend 10L (Bit of a rare USA beast)

But be carefull,  the spindle nose boss diameter is important as this locates the backplate.  I you cant find a backplate, try one of the engineering services in the back of Model Engineer magazine.
