      If one needs to have induction hardened bedways reground will the hardness be reduced or lost altogether?,

          Be aware, if you are planning work by a firm other than Myford’s, that Myford intentionally stress the bed to produce a very slight curvature during their grinding operation. I don’t recall the details other than the deviation from linearity is only a thou or so. The process was described in the SMEE Journal in relation to a field trip to Myford’s the society had taken in the the last few years. It might be worthwhile to discuss your needs with Myford.

            Charlie – you will have to talk to Myfords to ask about the hardening. Some  hardening just does the surface, other processes can through harden, and you don’t know what the prehardening treatment is like. They could chill after casting so the bed is pretty hard anyway, and so forth.

              Thank you chaps for your input to my question,And i can see now that the definitive answer is a bit more complicated than i antisipated,My knowledge of hardening dose
              not extend beyond soaking an item in Kasenit overnight,Have a good new year and thanks,
