Can anyone suggest an ME Club track near Burton upon Trent.
I don't really have the time to spare to properly participate in a club due to other committments and family, but is there one who would humour me if I went along on a quiet weekday evening to see if my little shunter really can pull one or two adults?
I hope that it will be ready to try out in a month or two; I only have to re-make the gearbox endplates and bearings to better tolerances, complete the platework and a few accessories and make a speed controller.
I thought my nearest club was at Little Hay! I shall get in touch with them when things have advanced a bit more.
I tjust tried the new gearbox, with all re-made P-B bushes. Nice and sweet without lube, until I fitted the brackest for the rear panel and it stiffened right up
Undeterred I just ran it in for about 10 minutes off a battery charger with lots of oil on teh layshafts and grease on the gears and enjoyed seeing the current drop from about 2 amps to under 900 milliamps. It now turns freely by hand again. Sorted!
