      Hi All

I had a ride along the M5 today to have a look at this exhibition. Loads of models and plenty of room to see them. Lots of nice chat with other fans and several demonstrations going on with advice available. Live steam traction engines and loco rides outside If you’re anywhere near I recommend you give it a go tomorrow! Open 10am – 4pm. – for location see Home page here – putting the post code into my SatNav took me to the door!

      Regards

      Norman

I agree with Norman, it’s well worth a visit if you can make it. Whilst you’re there, check out the guy with the Little Samson in steam outside. I did and suddenly realised after chatting for a few minutes that he was MGJ, nice to put a face to a fellow forum poster! The exhibitors all seemed very approachable and happy to give advise and information on their exhibits. All together a most pleasant afternoon and a chance to stock up on some tools and workshop consumables!

            Regards, Martin.

Still one day to go so why not get along if you are in one of the neigbouring counties. It is not just Taunton but also attending are Bristol, Tiverton, Yeovil, and South Somerset engineers. Tone boat club, and several traders so tools and materials available.

Two halls full of mostly engineering models but a few boats too, and aeroplanes sorry didn't record that club. Lots of large scale tractions engines running outside and a short drive away their newer track was in operation – yes a club with TWO tracks.

Looks like a good area to retire too and to back that up I even met one of our old club members who has 'gone native' and built one of the local lad Antony Mount's engines. All the clubs are friendly and offered a welcome if I cared to come along with an engine, I even got an offer from someone from the Isle of Wight.
