Hi all
I just recently completed a series of these. The Iconic Spitfire needs no introduction, such a beautiful shape to model and display.
This is 5 axis CNC machined in parts with various brass components.
The MK2 will have some updates and more detailed parts.
Super pleased how these turned out
Thank you
Carl
Stunning work as always
That one's a wow
Very Nice
Would be interesting to know what CAD and CAM were used as well a swhat machine it was done on. Also what was the run time, final stepover distance and what post machining work to get that finish?
I would think that a lot of the g-code work and machining procedures would fall under the remit of trade secret
Stunning, simply stunning work, if only i had the patience.
Lovely indeed. What is it about the Spitfire that makes it so aesthetically pleasing?

What is it about the Spitfire that makes it so aesthetically pleasing?
It looks like an aeroplane that's intended to fly …. not like something that ought to drop out of the sky.
Much work done done following experience with the Schneider Trophy float plane during the earlier 1930s..
From personal experience it flies like it looks, a dream.

Is it your own CAD work?
