Hi There

They were black (neutral) and red (phases) back in the early 1960s.That was much older wiring as well.

Even in the 60s the three phases were Red, Yellow and Blue in that sequence of rotation.

Around 1900 the insulation would have been cotton or gutta percha and not pvc or rubber. the colours would have been red for the phases and black for the star point . Usually a 3 phase bridge was used to provide D>C for supply to custoners.

Thankyou for the replies to my question on 1900 cable colouring. It is as I suspected. I shall procede with red phases and black star point. The model will only represent a small private installation, such as a small factory, or a large private house. That is the aim; a long way to go yet!
