I’ve been looking through threads in the Forum and this looks like a good group of enthusiasts to be with. Although I’m not a professional, engineering has been my hobby for nearly 60 years. My main interest is vintage cars. The cars are great fun and there’s always plenty of fettling to do and parts to make. Today I have been reaming bushes on the stub axle of a 1929 Riley. Most of my machining is done on a Myford Super7. I have gear for milling but it’s difficult to keep things rigid on the cross slide. I’m therefore contemplating buying a mill. The Seig products seem to have a good reputation with many of you and Ace as a supplier.

I look forward to picking up more gems from you.

Hi Iain. Welcome along. From another Super 7 user. A milling machine will help you no end with old cars. I got the lathe 1st & then along came the milling machine. I would not be without either of them now.

There are a lot of pretty savi members for almost any problem you may have.

          Steve.

Hi Ian welcome to the forum. There are plenty of like people on here with same or similar lathes. Do you mean ARC FOR a Seig mill. I bought a Chester mill for similar reasons as milling on a lathe is not always easy. Have a good look around and I always say buy one bigger than you need now as it is likely not big enough for the next project

            David .

Thank you all for the welcome.

David, you’re right. I did mean ARC as a supplier of Seig
