Paul, I retired from the REME in 1977, and started another carreer with an International Swiss Company LEICA,. I retired from them in 1999 settling back in Gillingham, kent. Then started work again at a smaller Coy. in Rochester and only stopped work in 2015 when made redundant at age 78.
Now fully retired I have a Myford ML10 and Seig Mill and a lot of other tooling. In process of making a 9F 3.5 gauge loco and other nits and bobs. Also a neekeeper, so forge ahead with your plans and enjoy yourself.
