Hello my name is Nick, I am a retired tech author. I have an elderly sail boat in Somerset, I obtained a Hobbymat lathe a d a drill press so I could make/repair obsolete parts.

I converted my garage into a workshop and bought a mini mill and took the next step towards model engineering by obtaining drawing and a set of casting for Canterbury Lamb

Lots of help, advice and banter on here.

If possible, join a Model Engineering Club, for socialising and face to face / hands on help.

Would Erewash be near enough? Peterborough S M E normally each year, but presently not likely for some time!
