        Hi all

im primarily interested in rc boats running 2 model boat clubs and a society in the uk but recently bought myself a Boxford cud lathe to make small parts for boats when I bought the lathe I was given a small 4 stroke engine that I think is a home build from plans this has go me interested in the machining side of things

I will probably ask all the wrong questions and sorry if I do lol

        mark

Welcome Mark. I used to have a rc boat. I think it was called an Omega 90, or was that the engine. Anyway we went to a club meet to have a look , it was at Roundhay park in Leeds. There was a man there called Hans. He was making his own engines which were diesel.

It was amazing watching these little engines being started up. His boats were replica's of steamboats with the big side paddles.

            Steve.

Hello Mark and welcome from another one time model boater albeit more sail than motor.

There are no wrong questions, just occasionally, wrong answers, so ask away.

              Brian

                  Welcome!

You will find an almost limitless range of expertise on here, (plus a few differing views and some banter )

With a lathe, a vast new range of things open up to you.

The only warning is that the Forum is addictive. I spend far too much time on here, when the swarf should be falling into the chip tray!

None of us please all the people all the time!

Forgot to say for gods sake make sure your speeling is correct. A lot of banter aimed at me from this. Most of the guys I have had replies from certainly know there onions.

                    Steve.
