I am John Wruck and I live in the US state of Minnesota which is in the north central part of the country. I worked for 42 years as a machinist/mold maker, (multi cavity rubber molds) most of the time on CNC mills and before that NC. I can operate a lathe but is definitely not one of my strong points. I am sadden to here about John Stevenson he has posted on several domestic sites that I read. I have read some of the postings on this site and I do find some of the terminology a bit confusing at times. I found some drawings for a drill sharpener last night and that will probably be my next project.

Hi John. Welcome. Please let us know how you get on with your drill sharpener, lots of interest in them.

          Dave

PS Unusual accent you have in Minnesota. (Judging by watching 'Fargo' on TV. Are you near Bemidji?)

To Old Duffer and John F

A few years ago there was a movie showing named Fargo if that is what you are referring to I would have to say the accent is correct but a bit over done. Fargo is in North Dakota just over the line from Minnesota. As a young man I was in the US Air Force and spent two years in the north central part of North Dakota, winters there can be bitterly cold especially when the wind was blowing. The saying was "there are only two barbed wire fences keeping the wind from Canada out and one of those are down." I live in a northern suburb of Minneapolis. Bemidji would be 3-4 hours north and west from here, since Bemidji does not really have any claim to fame how is it that you come to ask about it?

                John F

I went to the profile block and filled out the spaces (twice) but it did not accept what I had filled in. So I left it blank if you have any questions you would like to ask I will answer as best I can.

So thanks to John F, S.O.D. and Neil Wyatt for the warm welcome.

                  Welcome!
Don't be too offended by some of the banter on here, just put it down to Limey humour. There's a lot of friendship and help here, but getting bits to and fro from UK or the Antipodes might well be a difficulty. (Just look at some of the earlier threads)

Words and pictures travel quite well, though.

                  Howard
