Hi all! Not long been on the model engineer website but I have been building models for a few years now. Thought I’d post my progress so far as a new 22 year old enthusiast

            Welcome John,

If you go to the topic list the first topic if Forum FAQs and teh first thread on it is 'How to post Pictures'

            http://www.model-engineer.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=103028&p=2

In short, create an album (see top green stripe), upload pictures then use the black camera icon to insert them into your posts.

            Neil

Maybe it’s because I’m using an android but all I get to add posts in is a small text box. If I go to create a new thread on the forum I still don’t get any option to add photos?

John, the pictures are in your album. Not sure if you can see it on Android, but at the top of the reply box under the thread there should be some icons. Top right is a camera icon which is 'Insert image from album'. Click on that and add the images you want.

                    Andy

I am not having any problem up loading photos to an album, be it they are very slow to do so, but as Andrew suggested there is no camera icon above the box I post replies in. Shame as I have some really nice pics I would like everyone to see

Right guys, new question. I tested my Tich on steam for the first time yesterday. She fired up well getting up to pressure with no leaks. Unfortunately, once hot, the pistons ceased up in the cylinders. Both are Phoser bronse, supplied as castings by GLR. I’m guessing, being PB, they have both expanded? Anyone got any ideas and if this is the reason does anyone know how much clearance I should leave between the cylinder I/D and the pistons O/D??

                                  Hi John,

If your pistons were OK while the chassis was being manually revolved, I very much doubt there is problem with the fit in the cylinders when on steam. What packing have you used on the pistons? Flood with lots of proper oil for steam if using on steam, and let everything wear in a bit. Better too good a fit than too sloppy a fit.

                                  Cheers,

                                  Julian

I had to change from IE that I had been using on Windows 7, to Google Chrome when I got stuck with W 10, as on W 10/IE the posting box is a plain rectangle about 1/3 the width of the full size one, with no lines of extras across the top. So John if you can change to another system, you might be OK. BL****Y computors.

No Ian S C, not BL****Y computers, INCOMPETANT WEB DESIGNERS. Years ago a mate in the US of looked at this web and fell over laughing at the "Overlap" problems. He was going to offer to fix it but due to other problems decided against it. His job? To make sure ALL systems and combinations are able to use his employers website, EVEN with two tin cans and a piece of string.

Strange how so many play c**p about plans having incorrect dimensions but roll over with problems like this. Still it's only a toy forum.

                                        Regards Ian.

Well I have taken everything apart now and as you said Julian it’s not the pistons ceasing as I have heated them whire moving the pistons rods in and out and no ceasing! It turns out the coupling rods are binding!! It’s very strange!
