Hello from chilly north Scotland! This site keeps popping up in Google with lots of useful information, and I've just bought my first lathe so thought it was about time I signed up. I've been interested in mechanical things since I was a child, not much has changed really, except the toys have got bigger!

Hi Oldskool,

Welcome to the forum. Buying that lathe is the first step on a slippery slope. Are you interested in modelling or practical stuff?
