My first impression was that I was being punished for dropping the latest ME down the loo, as all the edit boxes have disappeared, preventing me from posting or sending messages.

I tried logging in and out and restarting Firefox, to no avail.

In desperation I tried Internet Explorer, and it works! Slow and tedious, but it works.

Is this a firefox problem that will be soklved by a new update or a website design issue?

Now this is downright wierd!

I had to log in afresh to use IE, but when I went back to Firefox I was logged out, but the edit boxes had miraculously appeared!

I have logged back in to Firefox and am entering this, but can anyone explain what has happened?

<edit> There's still an issue, on some pages (not this one) the editor is a few icons short of a full toolbar – bit like me, I suppose.

Neil,

You're not alone, having read your post I scrolled down to add a comment and Lo and Behold, no edit box, having re-loaded the page all is ok again – never seen this before! and it's been alright earlier in the day.

Maybe this is all part of the site 'upgrade' LOL (cynical? – who? Me?)

It's a problem with the site. I get the same effect on my Android tablet but if I refresh the page the box comes back. The page code is full of syntax errors but the powers that be seem to have no wish to fix it. Writing this on my tablet and carriage return doesn't work. Russell.

Glad it's not my imagination!

Perhaps someone is rolling out fixes in real time… maybe the software guy who appeared yesterday?

I will raise this first thing tomorrow … sorry, later this morning.

I am using Firefox on a Mac and have had no problems at all. It's difficult to try to establish what's wrong when it's all right…

Hi all,

same problem for me too, Sid recommended F5, and after pressing it a few times the edit box appeared, is this the new and better software?

First, must give you five stars for working so late! Glad someone is keen.

Second, it's not difficult. Submit the page concerned to **LINK** and fix the syntax errors! Until these errors are fixed the results will be unpredictable. The software being used to create the pages should be able to do this syntax checking automatically but clearly the company charged with the task is incompetant.

BTW. I have no problem with Firefox running on Linux but problems on my Android tablet.

Was away for one week Neil. Still trying to catch up! 17 hours days just now.

Russell – there's no point in telling me it's not difficult. There is no way I am getting involved in the software running the back of this website. It's bad enough from this side!! I try to help everybody in any way I can but I draw the line at websites. I was a graphic artist to trade (as they used to say) but I have zero interest – and even less knowledge – in how a website works. It has been reported to those who are responsible. I ~~wring~~ wash my hands…

Thanks Dianne,

I realise that you personnaly can't do anything but hopefully your reporting it to those responsible will have some effect. There have been problems with the site for years now so perhaps the company responsible should be given an ultimatum by MTM, fix it or we go elsewhere.
