Yes, I've paid my sub – my main delight is reading through early issues of MEW.

Each time I try I am told the thread is not available.

Why?,Bit of a waste of money of part of my sub.

      Anyone any info on this?

      Many thanks

      Richard2.

          Hello Richard,

Can you be a bit more specific? Are you trying to access the magazine archive (which needs a digital subscription) or something else?

            Hi Neil

I thought I would take a look and every thread I have clicked on in the "Beginners Questions" topic earlier than "Posilock Threads" half way down page 207 (last posting 23/05/2009) brings up the message "Sorry, but the thread cannot be found". Many also show a negative number of replies.

I get the same result as Brian and Richard, so some links not working.

As the forum started in 2009 you won't get much earlier than that.

Any ones that can't be read or have negative numbers will have been deleted as they were possibly spam, wrongly posted, duplicates etc

If you read the thread titles of some of those ones you can't access you will see that quite a few have no place in that section and the spam ones buy our overseas friends can be spotted too.

I'm guessing the bulletin board/forum had an updated version used at some point, and the old threads are archived.

Should also say that access to the forum is free to anyone, you don't need a subscription to view. It is only the digital archive back issues that are accessible as part of a suitable subscription.

As Jason says, these are empty threads where either spam/nuisance postings were deleted or misplaced postings that were moved to other threads/topics. Once empty the thread moves to the end as it no longer has a date.

It's only about sixty threads out of well over 4,000 so there's plenty left for you to read!

I wasn't complaining Neil, I only looked at them to see if I had understood the original posting. I suspect that if I did try to read all the threads, by the time I got to the end I would have forgotten the earlier ones anyway and would need to start again and "that way madness lies".

Anyway, we all have to save some time for the workshop

                          Brian
