It may just be the way the assembly is drawn, unfortunately there are no dimensions for the position of the trigger's pivot point or the radius the top of the quadrant is machined to so impossible to check the dimensions.
Compared with the photo 138 the drawing looks to show the trigger in the up position being a lot more vertical so it could be the latch and pin are right but the quadrant wrong

I spotted the radius for the quadrant and it will work, just that the assembly drawing is wrong.
If you subtract 2.312" from the overall length of 7.875" that puts the pin at 5.563" from the lever pivot.
The ctr of the lower end of the pin slot is 0.438" up ( 0.375 + 0.062)
Radius of quadrant is 5.125" add the 0.438" to that and you get 5.563" so end of latch will just clear top of quadrant when in the up position
