I should have worked this out in ~12 years of subscribing, but…

What’s the publishing schedule for ME? Is is first and second week of every month (24 issues a year) or is it every 2 weeks (26 issues a year).

My gut feeling is ME.MEW,ME,gap each month, but I thought ME was every two weeks, not twice a month.

I know I could go and look at teh dates on lots of issues, but that would just make the headache which is getting me out of doing my wife’s tax return even worse…

(real reason for this post – I’m convinced that ME has arrived and has been hidden until said tax return is completed).

          Hi There
          Week 1 ME.
          Week 2 MEW.
          Week 3 ME
Week 4 put my feet up.
          Repeat from week 1.

This is why I took MEW form 12 to 13 issues a year.
It fits in to the middle of an ME fortnight otherwise we would be getting major problems.
          regards David

            Hi David

“Week 4 put my feet up” – No No No – get out into the workshop, pick up a large file and attack a lump of steel!
I wouldn’t have your job for all for all the tea etc. etc.
            All the best

A large glass of ferric chloride for me, I’m afraid. (Hmmm, ‘earthy’ tones with a slight metallic undercurrent).
Never mind David – he’s demob happy!

                    Diane:
Suggest next time David comes south he stops off at Tain to get you a bottle of the real amber nectar: Glenmorangie single malt! Tastier than ferric chloride!

No he is a lot nearer the real stuff, nip across from his north coast home to Orkney on the ferry for some Highland Park, I still have some of the old 100 proof!

No, you are all wrong, Dalwhinnie is the real thing. Soft, subtle, without that peaty, earthy taste. Perhaps Mrs Stub should be plied with her favourite beverage until she reveals the location of said magazine.

Laphroig is best watered down about 10 to 1, can then be used as a cutting fluid, will kill all bacteria in the suds tank.

Putting water in whisky is a hanging offence round here, close to Speyside.
As for the peaty-tasting west coast and island malts, well, an old pal of mine describes them as “like drinking a distilled railway sleeper.” But each to his or her own taste – remember that every sip you take helps to keep Scotland’s economy thriving!

I went to a whisky tasting once, (That was fun) and some whiskies definitely taste better with a little water added, it brings out the aroma and softens the harshness.
However, I can’t read the notes I made at the time about which was which. ( I told you it was fun)

I seem to remember the “wee dram” of Highland Park was 4 fingers on the glass!

Yes KWIL; the traditional English single whisky measure is known as a damp glass here in Scotland!

We had a large whisky barrel delivered to work today (I am still not sure why). Sadly empty and apparently used it looked very new – I thought they used old sherry casks etc.

This is all too much .. I’m heading for the cupboard in he corner where there’s 1/3rd of a bottle of – Laphroaig (neat only – water is for washing in!)

I wonder how it compares with Laphroig for loveliness and moreness!!
