If you have an hour to spare, the Elon Musk BBC interview is quite enlightening.

It’s on iPlayer, and was apparently also run on Twitter.

He's always interesting to listen to, IMO. He's a bit of a renegade but recognises his flaws.

Buying Twitter, at possibly twice it's actual market value, was part of a longer term plan.

I think someone once said "Pick your enemies carefully" …. hmm, ICE manufactures, BigOil, unions, Governments … and now the world's banking system…..I guess Elon never heard of that saying, or he has strategies in place that indicate a win is possible.

He seems to be the real deal with some pretty obvious human flaws

Tesla trundling along while Toyota tries to keep up

SpaceX doing Thunderbirds stuff before anyone else

Starlink satellites up and running before anyone else

Reliable rockets and really big stuff too

Most of these guys like Bill Gates annoy me

Musk is finally setting the humanity achievement bar higher than simply being yet another billionaire Bill Gates type bum who smirks at interviews then goes home to count his money

The best most of them can do by that stage is some tax dodging right wing dogma ridden foundation hosing cash in the direction of their pals lawyers and relatives

I've now watched the 58 min interview – https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/l00569bp/elon-musk-talks-to-the-bbc

Lots of interesting factoids from Elon therein. I thought the BBC Silicon Valley Tech correspondent was a bit aggressive and cold with Elon but sometimes that is the best way to get to meat.

I find Elon seemingly cannot lie in one-to-one interviews, although he did tread warily on the issue of Indian and Chinese censorship regulations.

I've read the correspondent had only been given 20 mins warning that Elon was available – but surely the interview (and preparation) had been queued up for a few weeks?

My favourite comment from Elon was, when stubbornly reminded he was the CEO of Twitter, "My dog is the CEO of Twitter – it's a great dog!"

There was a series of programmes about Elon some months back. It was fascinating hearing about some of the difficulties he’s had to face over the years. He does come across as a bit strange but I admire his tenacity.

As for the BBC they come out with some pretty blatant misinformation if not downright lies at times. I don’t know how they get away with it. They admitted recently that they do get quite a lot of their information from the internet. It’s a shame their researchers aren’t a bit better at fact checking stuff before using it.
