I am getting old and was considering going into a home but the district nurse suggested getting a hospital bed.

I thought I was getting better but my foot is getting rotten and they may have to cut it off, At least it will match my other amputee leg.

I have got so weak in the last 2 month that I can barely sit up and it is very hard to get in my wheelchair.

I was going to get up to use my new Myford Ml10 but this looks unlikely and my son (my carer) keeps telling me to sell it. So very reluctantly it has to go.

I am not happy about it because one day the doctors may fix me, they have been trying for about 8 years, one day they may get it right.

So if any one is interested in a Brad new Myford ml10 with lots of accesses please contact me.

I will be putting it into rhe for sale Ads on this site shortly.

            Hope plan B works out

There's tons of forgotten printed stuff out there from 100 years of ME etc issues which would still be interesting for more able bodied people to be reminded of for future projects

If you still have your eyes and your brain and your hands you can still do web based research stuff after your daily challenges of life have been overcome

                Hi David!

Sorry to hear the news of another loss to our hobby.

Very small consolation, but you are not alone in feeling the effects of age. It's bad enough getting down to pick up something dropped on the floor, but getting up is an even worse matter!

Hope that all goes well foe you.

At least you can keep in touch via the Forum.

Thank you all for your kind comments.

The district nurse is ordering me a hospital bed to help me sit up.

Also I have been taking a new tablet for two days to increase my blood pressure which has stopped me feeling dizzy when I sit up.

                          Hi David,

When I first read your post I didn't know if I should post a reply. Obviously, I am! You sound like someone who needs to keep their brain working, I know that feeling well. When I decided to give up my Austin Seven, not advertised yet, I knew I would need another hobby. I chose model engineering. No machinery yet, I need to sell aforementioned A7, and its two stablemates. If I hadn't chosen model engineering I would have had a long hard look at buying a good telescope. One that be controlled from me being indors warm and comfortable with its display wi-fi'd to a big TV. I watched a few youtube videos and what these modern telescopes can do is amazing.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

                            Hi Lee

Since I posted the original post, the doctors have given me a new tablet. Two days and it cured my dizziness.
it only took them ten years.

The pacemaker I had last year has stopped my blackouts. They gave me that just in case that was the problem. Luckily I only had two blackouts before I was taken to hospital for five weeks.

I went to hospital the other day for for a CT scan on my urinary tract, my bowels and my weak kidneys. It took 6 hours and about 15 attempts to get a cannula in. It will be a while before I get my results. It took about 15 attempts to get a cannula in. I ended up at the anethiolgy dept outside the operating theatre with 5 anethatists? having a go.

I have cataract surgery on Sunday, first one. On Tuesday I go to vascular to see if they can save my leg. The toes are black and my heel is rotting away.

                            But I am getting better.

What I am basically saying is never ever give up.

Great to hear you are doing better Dave. Sounds like you have some travails for sure. But not feeling dizzy all the time must surely help deal with the rest of the stuff. Yes, never give up. I have been battling a debilitating chronic illness for 13 years now and you just have to keep on keeping on. All the best on the cataracts mate. That should make life better for you too.

Its the mind that needs to be kept occupied most of all, with hopeful ideas and possible achievements. All the very best to you and look forward to your new ideas.

Fortunately my mind is fine. Plenty to do at home.

                                  I am still working away.

                                      The eyes have it.

                                      Hi An

                                      Never ever give up.

I just had the week from hell.

Last Sunday I went to eye clinic for cataract surgery.

No we can’t do it because of your infected leg.

                                      Went home.

Went to hospital for out patients appointment.

                                      They gave me two choices.

Go home and have the leg dressed every day for the rest of my life.

                                      Or have it chopped off.

                                      The eyes had it.

As the infection would not get better I could never have the eye surgery.

Wednesday afternoon they chopped the leg off.

Problem was my 3rd stage kidney failure made it to dangerous to have fully anaesthesia so they cut it off with a spinal anaesthetic.

That bone saw vibrated when they cut through the bone.

At least I will be able to have cataract surgery in a few weeks.

I have been laying in a hospital bed with low blood pressure about 77 over 40 and no sign of it increasing.

                                      So, never ever give up.

At least the health service worked for me,

They cut my first leg of just as quick just over 2 3/4 years ago.

Now my legs are both the same length.

Does anyone know of a pantomime vertical challenged vacancy this Christmas?

So, again never ever give up.

Even when your doctor phones you up the morning after having your leg chopped off about blood in my stool sample.
