      I am building Wilding’s English dial clock and he refers to a brass part as “18 gauge” thick. Am I correct in assuming that 18 gauge in England is approximately 0.048″?

          Ed, You are correct. 18SWG is 0.048″ I think that is equivalent to US 22 Gauge
