Repaired my 70+ year old Desoutter Type G30 "wrist breaker" drill today.

I was told by the late Arthur Prescott who served as a young instrument maker on KG5 during the war that these machines were in use in the aircraft workshops at that time by ladies who worked there. These drills are 5/16 in. capacity and run around 300 rpm. Many times it would bite into the job and twist itself out of the hand often cause injury to the hand or wrist hence the nickname. it runs like new again.

        wink

I'm unable to upload the pics for try as i like no "insert" button appears. Any help on this?

I was advised a powerful drill can be used left handed or held upside down so that it pulls out of your fingers when it snatches. I mostly do now for larger drill bits. Also try to keep the thumb behind like starting handles.
