I've been trying to get a syncronome master clock going as an occasional project for a while. Previously repaired them with great success. The clock is set up according to instructions I've found and everything works as it should but as I suspect it was a home built version from Syncronome supplied castings I'm getting suspicious of some of the dimensions’ and detail.

I believe that Elliot Isaccs described building one in Engineering in miniature but cannot find it. Does anyone know of the issues or have access to them?

      Thanks Peter

!987 'An Electric Master Clock' 14 parts from Feb 87 but a pause after the clock is complete with the last 3 from March 88 covering the slave.

Unfortunately my copies are 250 miles away – if only you had asked yesterday.

There is the Synchronome1 group on groups.io but he keeps ignoring me when I ask to join. You may have better luck. Also the Facebook Synchronome group didn't like me as I didn't know the secret handshake. However the mysterious (because it doesn't come up on a search on groups.io) electric-clocks group gave me access in minutes and they do have some some members from this forum.

Not got EIM articles, but I do have a little book 'Electric Clocks and Chimes' by Percival Marshall. No date, but it cost 3s 6d.it has a chapter on Synch, and some detail drawings. If you'd like to borrow it send me your dirt mail address.

I have a feeling ME has had articles as well.

Thanks everyone. The impulse ramp looks different to other clocks when I search around also the latch arm which the "escape" wheel trips to drop the gravity arm. Sorry, cant rotate the 2nd pic!

Thanks for the offer Duncan—shall I PM you?

Thanks, can access Synchronome 1 messages easily from my groups but not files as my subscription is not yet approved—fingers crossed.

It's only 11 pages, send me your email by pm and I'll scan it. I doubt it will help much, lots of missing dimensions.

Here's a very short video of a GPO master clock running, where I'd made up new suspension spring strips for the pendulum last year –

Many thanks everyone—now got access to the Elliot Isaacs files so I've got some dimentions to check—at last!

Mick B1. You clock look nice. Used to have a Hipp Toggle GPO clock like that but replaced it with an English Clock Systems master which has never been as reiable!

Scan sent, there is also a series in ME 3342/3/4 & 3353 with what look to be good drawings, so I've sent that as well

Many thanks Duncan, got them all of and look really useful reading. The latch in the book Electric clocks and chimes looks very similar to the one on the clock, perhaps this was an older style latch.

I'm really amazed how much info I've got in such a short time—-many thanks to everyone on the forum
