Tonight was the Premiere in Auckland of the film of the (too short) life of the Kiwi motor racing champ, automotive engineer.

The film is by the same director as "The Fastest Indian" Bert Monroe, Rodger Donaldson.

Don't know when it opens in other parts of the world.

          Hi Ian

A must see for me, thanks for the advance notice, will keep an eye open for it's release in the uk.

Mclaren, Hulme and Brabham from down under, great formula one times in the late 60's.

I remember seeing Mclaren going hell for leather with Stirling Moss at Oulton Park, 1963 if my memory serves me right. A long time ago, Dad was a mad keen motor sport fan.

One of Bruce's mechanic/engineers lives in the same town as I do, semi retired now, here is his review of the film."Anyone with any interest in motor racing and who would like an insight into the man behind the McLaren name this doco-movie is a must see. I thought it was pretty correct and well-worth going to," Chris (Charles) concluded.

Review from an article in our local weekly news paper, "Malvern News", Fri 9th June 2017.

Chris Charles was one of the original mechanics with the McLaren team, hes a cousin of Bob Charles the golfer.

I believe the film has been released as a DVD here in the UK. I'm out and about today so I think I'll pick up a copy. Thanks for the reminder Ian.

              Steve.

Thanks for the 'Heads Up' on this. I've put it on my Birthday list for July. I've followed F1 since about 1959 when on TV. Only been able to go to one race in my lifetime to date. Will be a great addition to my library. Thanks.
