Stuart S50 Mill Steam Engine with modifications to the plinth running on live steam from a MSM 4" copper boiler.

There was a lot of machining of parts and working out where everything was going to go and how it was all going to work.

A lot of fun doing this.

Beautiful. And one of many judging by the collection in the background. I love the refillable butane tank and burner. Quicker and cleaner than the traditional metho. Are plans available anywhere for the burner?

Think I'll pass on the cup of tea thanks all the same!

What a corker of a set up; you can just picture the boilerman making a brew on a full scale industrial installation.

Thanks George my family had a tannery business for 125 years and lunch lady used to put all the pie, sausage rolls and pastie orders along the side of one of the coal fired boilers for the workers to keep them warm.

Seems a waste not to use the left over steam!!! I fully agree.

I liked everything – apart from that valve on the water supply tank. Surely convention is the handle across the flow when off and in line with the flow when open?

Was the tardiness to start due to condensate in the pipe under the plinth?

It looks, to me, like a huge collection of desirable models. Enjoy! Let’s see some more.

No as I blow all water out of my steam engines with compressed air after a run. This was just a normal steam engine block that a lot of model steam have as they warm up.

A lovely build. Those S50's are fabulous to watch, especially the piston arm.
