Just discovered my mill is dead. Its a WEISS mill, similar to Chester's "chapion 20v"

Took out brushes and blew out with air and she lives again.

One of the motor brushes is very short, I have looked and can't find the correct size.

They measure 3.4mm wide, 10mm high and I'd guess around 15mm long when new.

        Can anyone help, please

        Cheers Jim

Have you tried Chester, warco, etc whoever does the mill for spares some are a bit of an odd size that you can't find easily on the net.

If you get some slightly over size carbon brushes you can rub them down to fit, with CARE. Place a piece of sand paper upside down on a piece of flat glass or old mirror and gentle run away, keep checking for size. Also, not a good idea to BLOW out the carbon dust with compressed air, suck it out with a vacuum cleaner. Compressed air usually contains a small amount of (very ,fine mist) water also you are blasting carbon dust everywhere inside the motor, suck it out and get rid. Washing machine/vacuum cleaner repair shops usually have quite a selection of carbons as they say and their brushes are of the right carbon content/mix for a high speed motors such as yours .John

Look on Ebay for motor brushes. Lots listing the sizes and cheap, mainly from China so a couple of weeks wait for postage.

I’ll probably get some oversize ones off eBay.

                Thanks for advice

                  IF !! it's the same 600W motor as a Warco WM16 it's these :

I think Warco charge a fair bit more for what appear to be the same brushes.

I would suggest you pop into your local motor rebuild shop as the cheap Chinese brushes are not very good, if they have something similar but better quality they may just need a trim to fit but my experience of cheap brushes is they wear out very quickly, stick in their holders and leave carbon trails to cause earth leakage problems.

The new ARC brushes arrived today, fitted straight in.

                        Happy days.

A big thanks for the heads up on this.

                        Cheers Jim
