        Hi All

Similar situation to Peter Jenkins, see above.

I am not a model engineer. I fly model helicopters for a hobby. They involve nuts, bolts and gears, so I suppose I qualify.

Anyway, occasionally I need some small engineering jobs undertaken. Wonder whether anyone with a home workshop might be interested in taking them on.

For example, I currently need a hole drilled on a piece of 8mm silver steel.

This is for a modified main shaft for one of my models.

The hole is 3mm diameter, so doesn't sound overly complex, but it needs to be drilled accurately so the rotor hub will fit.

Obviously fee is available for this work.

        Anybody take on the challenge?

        Thanks

        Jeff

I'm fairly sure you'd find someone to help you out if they are reasonably local but you give no indication of where you are.

            .

If you are anywhere near Warrington I will do it for you.

Charge will be a packet of Hob Nob biscuits. laugh

I get up to Warrington most weekends as me new girlfriend lives up on the Wirral.

Mind you I don't take me lathe with me, if I need one I use hers. wink

                .

Then call round. You can show me how to drill a 3mm hole. angelsmiley

Sorry guys, forgot to mention I am in South London, near Crystal Palace.

Also forgot to mention the hole I need drilled is across the shaft, not in the end.

Thanks for the offer. If still available, perhaps I could post the shaft to you. Shaft is only 190mm long so should fit in a jiffy bag.

Probably best not to enclose any Hob Nobs. Knowing the Post Office, they will be crumbs when you get them.

However will include some Hob Nob vouchers, and a return envelope.

                  How does that sound?

If only I got to this thread earlier and got my fee in. Surely the job is worth chocolate Hob nobs.

No, Really, This shows what a nice community us model engineers still live in
