Anyone else with this problem…

After googling and using the search engine on here I find I can subscribe to the magazine of my choice as easy as pie.

However when stopping the said supply things aren't anywhere near as easy.

Why???? The answer to my mind is simple (PROFITS).

I have tried the phone number which played rubbish music in my ear for as long as I either cared to listen or cared to pay for the phone-Mobile.

I don't wish tto pay for your slow services. I don't wish to have to return magazines at my expence or wait for refunds and so on.

Why can I not stop my subscription on line?

This would be easy to achieve as far as I can see, by adding this service to your subscription pages a simple couple of button presses and presto.

Hello Jesse,

Stopping is very simple, just contact your bank and cancel the direct debit.

Naturally, an email to mytimemedia@subscription.co.uk to inform us of this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Neil,

I really didn't want to post anything about this on here but seriously couldn't find any alternative to phoning and my next port of call was,,, the bank! However even this worried me as if I stopped my subs you might not be notified and perhaps more do do's hitting the proverbial.

Can't this be made more clear on your subsribe here ads?

Everyone with a print subscription was given multiple notice over more than a year of that change. The reasons were fully explained elsewhere, but in short like all publishers we had to move to a proper digital platform and develop teh digital side of our business. We couldn't realistically sell a premium digital product if we were giving it away free at the same time.

Strictly you should give us written notice, but we won't normally make a big issue of it.

Cancellation information is given at length in the Terms and Conditions which are clearly linked to on the subscription pages.

I can't think of a more appropriate place to present this information.

Ive had similar problems. A lot of publishers rely on inertial selling (on line newspapers are a glaring example where they off 3 montths subscription at say £1 per issue say vs £2.50. But unless the practically give notice of termination straight away, they fudge the issue and continue billing your credit card. I would NEVER sign up to a deal like that. Just plain dirty tricks

See our T&Cs we specifically stress you can cancel the £1 an issue offers straight away.

For other less trusty publishers use DD and if they screw up, your bank is obliged to refund you under the DD guarantee. Equally if you pay by credit card, the card provider will refund and reclaim from the publisher.

Understood, but rather that being coerced into paying more I cancelled my subscription.
