Could anyone help me locate wheel castings or pattern for 5" gauge Dolgoch. I have contacted one of our suppliers who handles this design but they are unable to help. Many thanks Graham

The drawings were sold by JGS Clarke in 1982, 10 sheets for 20quid

JGS Clarke appears to have been part of polly engineering in 1999

          Maybe they can help you

            hi graham,

Reeves list Dolgoch (see recent thread).

the wheels are very plain almost disc wheels having no spokes as such, and could easily be turned out of solid steel blanks then the fronts milled, with some considerable saving in cost plus greater adhesion than cast iron wheels.

            cheers,

            julian

May even be easier to solder the six "spokes" onto the blank, then do a final finishing cut just incase anything moves while soldering

                hi jason,

that is also what i would do as my workshop equipment is a bit basic and antiquated!

the ribs could easily be simulated as you suggest.

                cheers,

                julian

Thanks chaps, looks like I might have to go your suggested route, pity as there must be a pattern around somewhere and maybe a few odd castings as they were available until quite a few years ago from commercial suppliers. In their archive SSS had a part built one many years ago and this clearly had cast wheels. I will keep searching for the time being but if no luck will fabricate and get spokes water jet cut and braze together as suggested. Again many thanks Graham
